Libraries β
Reduzer provides three libraries: Products, Components, Templates. The libraries are used as building blocks for the carbon calculations.

π Component and Product Libraries β
The library system is where all the environmental data used in your calculations is stored and managed. It is built on a tiered structure to ensure data accuracy for certification while offering full flexibility for your project-specific needs.
ποΈ Library Structure: Global vs. Custom β
The system is organized into three distinct libraries:
Global Library: This serves as the public, master database and contains approximately 15,000 datapoints. It includes official EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations), generic values, and pre-calculated Reduzer average entries.
Note: Only Reduzer staff can make changes to the Global Library.
Company Library: This library is a private, shared space where all users within your organization can save and reuse custom component assemblies.
My Components: This is your personal workspace for creating and saving components for individual projects or use cases.
βοΈ Customizing and Creating Components β
The Global Library is a Starting Point
You should never feel limited by the content in the Global Library. The key to accurate modeling is customization.
Duplicate and Edit: You can duplicate any component from the Global Library and then edit it to match your exact design specifications. Save the customized version to your Company or My Components library for reuse.
Edit After Mapping: You can also choose a component that closely resembles your design during the BIM mapping process. After mapping is complete, you can then edit the component directly in the Material List to change products or add new layers.
β¨ Adding New EPDs to the Library β
If you need a specific product that is not in the Global Library, you can request that it be added.
- Submit a Request: Send us a request with the EPD number (or use the dedicated "Request New EPD" form in the platform).
- Turnaround Time: We typically register and make new EPDs available in the Global Library within 48 hours.
Manual Import for EPDs
You can also add EPD's yourself. In this case you don't have to wait for us to add it!
