π Results Module: Understanding Your LCA Output β
The Results module is where your project's greenhouse gas calculations are visualized, benchmarked, and exported. This section is key for documenting compliance, comparing design options, and tracking performance.
π Key Output Metrics and Indicators β
Reduzer is an approved LCA tool for standards like BREEAM and is designed to go beyond just Global Warming Potential (GWP). The platform can calculate and provide data for several environmental indicators:
- Global Warming Potential (GWP): This is the primary indicator, available in multiple places.
- Operational Carbon (COβe, kWh): Emissions from energy consumption during the building's use (Phase B6).
- Embodied Carbon (COβe): Emissions related to the materials and construction processes.
- Circularity: Metrics related to circularity are calculated based on COβ, mass, and cost.
- Secondary Materials: Includes the use of secondary material (kg) and components for reuse (kg).
- Energy Recovery: Tracks materials for energy recovery (kg) and exported energy (kWh).
π How to View and Export Results β
1. Viewing Results β
Your results are displayed as figures and charts that adjust automatically based on your current scheme selection.
- Material List/Inventory: Detailed results for each component are visible here, along with the overall GWP for the version.
- Energy Use Figures: Results for operational carbon and exported energy can be found in this section.
- Combined Results: For projects with multiple objects (e.g., 3 buildings sharing a basement), you can see the combined results of all versions marked with a star.
2. Generating and Exporting Reports β
You have several ways to document and share your calculations:
- Export to Excel/CSV: You can download the Material List into an Excel or CSV file. This export includes detailed data for all key environmental indicators.
- Generate PDF Report: Download a complete report by selecting the "report" button on the right side of your version and then choosing "share" to download or get a link.
β οΈ Troubleshooting Common Issues
If your result figures appear incorrect or are grayed out, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
Missing Mandatory Information: If GWP is not calculated for some inventories, it may be because a required field is missing (e.g., using mΒ² as a unit for concrete without specifying a required thickness).
Old Version Bug: If you are working on a very old version, results may not load automatically. The fix is to switch the calculation scheme to another and then switch back (e.g., TEK17 β FutureBuilt) to force a recalculation.
Viewer Access: If the "report" button is inactive, it is likely because you have "Viewer" access. You will need the project owner to grant you "Editor" access for full functionality.
